DescriptionLetter from David Skene to his father, Andrew Skene, in which he describes Monro's lectures, stating that Monro spent 3 or 4 days on his angiology subject; Dr Rutherford is proceeding slowly on his practical class and that he has not yet got a variety of patients for his clinical lectures as he tries to illustrate the topics he is discussing; he talks of his father's acquaintances including Mrs Challmers, tells his father that Monro has told her gently that he cannot help her any more; he requests more money from his father and he defends his expenditure stating that he has not been to a play, concert, assembly or tavern since he arrived, has given up his eating house and breakfasts on pottage; is concerned about the lack of correspondence from home, 9 February 1752.
