DescriptionLetter from George Skene, Portsmouth, to David Skene in reply to a letter in which David Skene hints at his continued ingratitude; he tries to reassure him stating 'everyon is not born with equal talents, but I should be sorry to think any one has an honester heart than myself tho I have not such a genius as you'; he admits he can be thoughtless and stupid but does not think anyone can say he has a bad heart; expects Major General Coutts aboard so they expect to sail the day after; he has seen two or three Russian man o' war; Elpinston's ship is in the bay, 7 January 1770.
