2 March 1769
William Cullen (1710-1790), chemist and physician
Letter from William Cullen, Edinburgh to George Skene in which he discusses a case of hydarthrus that he and David Skene have been treating; he presumes, from the external cause and the lack of the marks of scrophula, that the ailment is topical and should be treated as such; he suggests it should be carefully studied for signs of suppuration; he recommends medicines that may be used; he asks to be kept informed of the progress of the case, 2 March 1769.
