DescriptionExercise book marked "K.W.T. 29th August '43 - Oct 1943 (Finis)" and signed by Macartney. Contains sermon notes, Orders of Service, and prayers, in Macartney's hand, mainly in pencil. Also full sermons, some dated and location given, some also with later dates and locations. Special topics include one sermon about congregational life of the particular congregation, one at closing of school before holidays. Locations given include King William's Town, Chasefu, Kondowe, the latter marked in Macartney's hand as used later at St Machar's. Also included are a prayer for loved ones of Prisoners of War and plan for PoW Intercession Service; outline of a talk entitled "What is Scotland"; and outline of what seems to be a farewell speech, mentioning his illness. Loose papers include a hospital address and ward number (Jameson, Ward 30 Springfield Military Hospital, Sydenham, Durban); a telegram (preaching invitation) from the Rev. W. H. Watson, Livingstonia Mission, Nyasaland, with pencilled petrol expenses claim letter on rear; and an undated sermon.
