DescriptionHardback notebook, marked at one end across the pages "VOL III" and, on flyleaf inside, marked "Lovedale 27th Oct 1942 - Feb 1943" and signed by Macartney. Contains sermons, Orders of service and prayers in pencil in the hand of Macartney. One Order of Service for a Carols service. Locations include All Saints, Lovedale, Alice (Baptist Church). Several sermons are marked "St M's" or "St Machar's" with a later date, apparently preached again on that date. Also another short talk, marked "Christmas Day:: Lovedale: : The Hospital" and "Not preached" appears to be a children's Christmas talk. Another sermon is a retelling of Henry Van Dyke's poem, "The Fourth Wise Man". Other special occasions include Christmas Day, Opening of Session. Includes a series of sermons which seem to have been preached to nurses at Lovedale Hospital on the themes "Preventive Medicine", "Septic, Aseptic and Antiseptic", "Sins of Omission and Commission", "Always have flowers in the Ward", "Count the Cost", "It's not fair -- life is so short". Loose paper with Order of Service, sermon notes for first in sermon series to nurses.
