Co., Fowey, sold 1936 to Arran Shipping Co., Irvine. Acquired in 1940 and sold 1947 to Milton Zagrafos, Piraeus and named 'Goergios Z', renamed 'Floga' in 1948. 'Ameila', built 1894 and taken off service and broken up in 1956. 'St Fergus', built in 1913 (390 tons) by Hawthorn & Co., Leith, cargo only; sunk by collision with S.S. 'Fidra', 31 December 1940 off Rattray Head. 'St Catherine' - known first as 'Highlander', built in 1916 by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Dundee for Aberdeen Newcastle & Hull Shipping Co., acquired 1939, damaged in air attack 1 August 1940 (bringing two enemy aircraft down) 10 miles south south east of Girdleness, Aberdeen, renamed 'St Catherine' in August 1940, sunk in air attack 14 November 1940 quarter mile south of Outer Buoy Swept channel, Aberdeen. Renamed 'St Catherine II'. Sunk by bombs 1942. |

Includes crew photographs from 'St Magnus'; 'St Rognvald'; 'St Ninian'; 'Rora Head'; 'Dunleary'; M.V. 'Earl of Zetland'; 'Earl of Zetland II'; 'St Ola' and 'Amelia'. Also loose sheets of photographs and papers, including photographs of the 'St Fergus' crew, who were saved when the vessel sunk in collision off Rattray Head at 10.40 p.m. on Thursday 31 December 1940, and of the 'St Catherine' crew, who were saved when their vessel was lost to enemy aerial action on Thursday 14 November 1941. |
