DescriptionFile 1, entitled 'Aberdeen-Melbourne Cyclotron' contains a letter from Mallard to Kosterlitz describing his twelve-year endeavour to secure a cyclotron for Aberdeen at the Foresterhill site and inviting Kosterlitz to become a member of the Aberdeen-Melbourne Cyclotron Steering Group, 27 April 1978. With two promotional leaflets: 'A Cyclotron in Aberdeen: Why?' and 'The Aberdeen-Melbourne Cyclotron'; and seven black and white photographs thought to show the transportation, unpacking and installation of the Aberdeen cyclotron.

File 2, entitled 'University of Aberdeen - Planning of Resources - Medical Physics' contains project proposals, reports and minutes of working groups involved in Aberdeen's P.E.T. Neuroscience Programme and P.E.T. Cyclotron Project, 1984 and undated. With copies of technical sales manuals and reprints on the same topics.

File 3 contains a letter from Mallard inviting Kosterlitz and his team to visit his cyclotron and PET imager, which are now both up and working, 23 November 1988. States that though he doesn't know a lot about Kosterlitz's field of research, he feels certain that the facility could be of value to him and his colleagues.
