Administrative HistoryAgnes Ann Thomson was born in Aberdeen in 1908 and after attending Aberdeen Central School she graduated MA from Aberdeen University in 1930. She attended Aberdeen Teacher Training College and became a teacher at Walker Road School from 1931 until her marriage in 1935. Her husband, Captain Francis Lyall of the Merchant Navy, was killed in action in 1941 and she returned to teaching, this time taking up a post at Aberdeen High School for Girls. In 1949 she moved to St. Margaret’s School for Girls, from which she eventually retired in 1972, continuing to reside in Aberdeen.
