DescriptionPapers relating to the administration of the Gordon estates in the Western Isles, including the properties of Castlebay and Craigston on Barra; Creagarry, Nunton Hill, and Torlum Croft on Benbecula; Gerinish, Milton, and Peninurine, on Long Island or Lewis; Askernish, Bornish, Breckernish, Daliburgh, Drimsdale, and Grogarry, all on South Uist; Drimore, Eriskay, Gramsdale, Kilbride, Mingulay, Stilligarry, Vatersay and Wiay. Also included is material on the piers built under Lady Cathcart's ownership at Castlebay, Lochskiport and Lochboisdale. The estates were acquired in 1839.
