DescriptionMiscellaneous collection of letters about various subjects, including taking legal advice against publishers, letters of congratulations and thanks to William Robertson Nicoll by various people. Letters which praise and discuss intellectual and literary interests, the lending of books and intellectual exchange. Letters by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and one by James Moffat, who became Professor of Scottish Church history at the United Free Church College in 1915, on the war effort during the First World War. Also includes a letter from the University of Aberdeen conferring an honorary Doctorate in Lawon William Robertson Nicoll .
