Administrative HistoryStalker was already interested in renal disease by 1948, when he was second author of the paper 'Renal complications in diabetes mellitus' (British Medical Journal, 24 July 1948, p 194). During the early second half of the twentieth century the University of Aberdeen's pathology department developed considerable research strength in the subject area and in 1967 looked at ways of sustaining and extending this research activity (see MS 3471/1/4/1).
