TitleLetter to the General from General the Honourable Henry Fox
DateApril 19th 1807
DescriptionReporting the arrival of Mackenzie Fraser's despatches on the 8th and congratulating him on the success obtained. Agrees that the capture of Rosetta and Romania was essential, but he disagrees with Major Missett's opinion that Damietta and Cairo should be taken. Reminds the General that the Government's instructions were quite clear and that operations should be confined to the capture of Alexandria in order to deny it to the French.
