DescriptionLetter to the Colonel from Norman Macleod of Islandrioch, saying that he is willing to pay the regulation difference for an exchange into the 78th Regiment for his son, but that the boy is very backward - 'though taller than many generals'. In consequence he wishes to send him to an education "Academy" so that he may acquire the education of an officer and a gentleman.
