DescriptionCharter by the provost, baillies, consuls and community of the burgh of Aberdeen, superiors of the subject granted, to William Guild, doctor of theology at King’s College, Aberdeen, in life-rent, and to James Rolland, burgess, son of William Rolland, merchant burgess of Aberdeen and their heirs, being burgesses and inhabitants of Aberdeen, of the half-nets salmon fishing of Ly Pott on the River Dee, which had been held in fee by William Scot and John Scot his son, merchant burgesses of Aberdeen. These are to be held for the payment of £4 2s Scots at two terms each year, by William, and after his death by James and his heirs, under the conditions that no women should succeed to the fishings, that the grantees are not to be exempt from suits of court, stent or other public burdens, that failure to pay the feu duty will render the grant void, and that the grantees may not hold two fishings or tenements of land from the burgh.
