DescriptionCharter of alienation by the provost, baillies, council and community of Aberdeen, with consent of Queen Mary and her tutor James, Duke of Chattellarault, Earl of Arran and Lord Hamilton, protector and governor of the Kingdom, granting the half-nets fishing of Ly Pott on the River Dee to John Rolland, son and heir of William Rolland, junior, burgess of Aberdeen, and his heirs, whom failing to David Rolland, tutor of John, and his heirs. The fishings are to be held for the ferme of £4 2s Scots, payable at two terms of the year on condition that the grantees will not be exempt from burgh suits of court, subsidies stents, and other public burdens, that no women is to succeed, that John and his heirs are not to hold two tenements, fishings or a whole nets fishing of the burgh, and that failure to pay the ferme will render the grant void.
