Letter from Cosmo Innes to Sir J.H. Burnett. Edinburgh , 24th June 1863. Identifies coins found, recipient's "pose". a penny and halfpenny of Edward I; asks to see the rest of the find;suggesting giving it to Henderson in the Exchequer, as the rule is to give a little more than than the bullion value to the finder, and the coins go to the museum; a scandalous story involving a colonel and a young lady, whose brother in law horsewhipped the former at the club; as an adjutant of volunteers the chastiser is likely to suffer from this action; no one cares for the colonel, he has no friends.
