DescriptionThis series of papers was originally titled 'miscellaneous' papers is now referred to as 'deposited papers'. The series contains a variety of papers, petitions, correspondence and manuscripts that cover a wide range of subjects such as Scottish churchmen and saints. The series is divided into five sub-sections: Authored works that include sermons and addresses created by identifiable authors, such as Reverend John Cardno, Alexander Jolly and John Skinner; sermons and addresses on subjects such as Lent and the Eucharist by unknown or anonymous authors; liturgical material that discuss topics such as the revision of the Scottish Hymnal and the form of the Holy Communion; literary papers of the Reverend Canon Arthur Austin Foster, Rector of St Devenicks, which include scripts and draft scripts of talks on literary subjects such as English prose; and deposited collections that comprises papers collected by either a church member or for a particular purpose such as research for an anniversary.
