DescriptionLetter from George Milne, 20, Loanhead Terrace, Aberdeen, to Robert Laws ('Bob'), thanking him for his letter, glad to hear that he should soon be back in Aberdeen, hoping his move is not premature, he will keep Robert's secret, advising him not to attend church on the Sabbath until he is quite sure he is no longer infectious, visit of Mr. Sorley of Arbroath to preach, no longer enjoying services in St. Nicholas' Lane, hints on best ways to approach some of his friends at '48', smallpox and boils must have reduced him to 'a state of animated putrefaction', reading lesson and taking Shiprow meeting, presiding at meeting of Young Men's Missionary Association, 'the attendance was small but the food was good', Mr. Strachan's remarks on marriage of King's son, parliamentary election probably reduced attendance, comments on Tory candidate's meeting in the Music Hall.
