DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Metz, to her relatives, concerning letter from Jessie Gray in which she says she has just married Donald McDonald, clerk in the works, and a deacon in the Free Church, Charlie has redeemed his character by declining a V.C., though he received the Military Medal, Bella's son Willie Ogle joined 'the wireless' and is going up for the Civil Service, and concerning Maria II in Rome who has told a lie about a sick relative in order to get more money, but now actually has a sick relative, and mention of Frank Polkinghorne, legally adopted by his uncle Mr. Trewhella. Dated in pencil 'Nov. 29/20' but clearly earlier - this may be the receipt date in Africa in which case it may have been written around October 1919.
