Date12 November 1920
Extent1 sheet
DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws to her parents, Aunt is now going to make a new will under the guidance of Mr. Gray, she is anxious about legacy duty affecting Uncle Aleck's money, costs of hospital beds and operations to give some idea of what Aunt Amy might require, hopes that missionaries realise the advantage of all their free medical care, the residue of Uncle's legacy was to go to the Roman church, but at this rate there will be nothing left as each of his legatees dies, she has written to ask for information on the future of Dowell's in Edinburgh, including whether or not they will move from Canning Street, Aunt thinks it advisable to go home and oversee the whole settlement, if things are to be brought to Metz it should be in April, remarks on Amelia's third of Miss Telford's legacy, which she would rather not have in the form of an annuity but as insurance for an emergency.
