DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Rome, to her relatives, telling them that the hot weather has begun, still a great deal of work to do, looking forward to a rest for both of them, death of Hale Benton's child Gordon from blood poisoning after vaccination, acid marks down the chin after death, Amelia's assistance to the Bentons after the death, attending the body to the post mortem, death certificate inconclusive but possibly meningitis, designed to avoid blaming the vaccine company, for many children have been affected, funeral on Ascension Day, canonisation of a Belgian nun, now St. Marguerite, 'What a hypocritical policy after the Vatican's behaviour during the war!', Hale is now away on business for a fortnight, they have agreed to oversee the painting of the manse in order to guard the furniture, final arrangements for beating carpets, etc.
