DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Metz, to her parents, written as a postscript to her general letter of 1 January 1920, problems with one of the madmen prevented her from writing this last night, late to bed and up early to dispatch another madman, in a 'camisole de force', by car to Steinbach, return of Mme. Remy so Amelia is once again masseuse, thanks for letter, Mlle. Chiry has not returned, Mme. Poilevey has been left in the lurch with 81 patients, there is a mild influenza epidemic, hopes to send a series of postcards of the hospital soon, the French could not have built the hospital the way the Germans have, in 1915, she would not be able to get a post in England without English diplomas, which she does not think she could manage, sorry to learn of deaths of Mr. Sutherland and Mr. L. Davidson, death of the fiance of Professor Crum Brown's niece, a merciful release for her, 'Aunt gathered from the nurse that it was well for all concerned that he did not live', Annie Moir's fiance wished to break off the engagement for health reasons, but though his family urged it the marriage has been delayed again as he is still under treatment.
