DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Hopital de Plantieres, Metz, Lorraine, France, to her relatives, explaining how she has missed writing a general letter for two Sundays in a row, the first because her luggage was not fetched in time from the station, the second because she has been so busy settling in, this sheet is to cover the ground plan of the hospital [absent], rough outline of the patients there: lungs and heart, tuberculous, large numbers which are increasing, two assistants, sisters named Samson, who are absolute beginners, but know the ropes of the hospital, administrative part overwhelming, departure of Mlle. de Tugini [whom Amelia seems to be replacing] made more difficult as she will not explain anything, she is doing injections and massage, arrival of Mlle. Chiry, who is capable and gets through an immense amount of work while Amelia covers the paperwork, they have to share a room, regrettably, she will have to stop writing now as the light is bothering Mlle Chiry.
