Blanc, widow of Dr. Léon Blanc who persuaded Pierpont Morgan to fund the municipal hospital; she is director of the smaller Léon Blanc hospital, which has a kindly atmosphere; she has a full staff but recommended that Amelia write to Mme. Brachet, president of the Union des Femmes de France, as she is setting up a staff at Chambéry; this Amelia has done; she is worried that the situation is liable to misconstruction in Rome if Uncle is questioned as to her activities. |
