TitleLetter from Willie Ogle to his great-uncle, Rev. James Gray
Date9 October 1916
Extent1 sheet
DescriptionLetter, copied out by Amelia Nyasa Laws, from Willie Ogle, 'Ossington', Cardross Road, Dumbarton, to his great-uncle, Rev. James Gray [he is the grandson of David Gray, James' brother], regarding his entry to Glasgow University to do an M.A. in order to compete for an 'interpretership on the Continent'; asking advice regarding such a post; its conditions, salary and prospects; greetings from his parents; regards to Aunt Mary and Aunt Emma. Amelia adds a note to the effect that the request is too vague for Uncle to answer though Consul Morgan may be able to offer some advice - is it for secretarial or commercial work, for instance? Thanks to Aunt Amy for card; mention of letter of introduction from the doctor at Aix.
