DescriptionLetter from Maggie Laws, Kondowe, to her daughter, Amelia Nyasa Laws, regarding saving writing paper from dogs and rats, examination of problems with organ, rats there and in the davenport, dogs useful in this instance, Mr. McAlpine and Dr. Prentice playing the restored organ, problems with damp, too, Mr. Henderson plays it when he visits, frogs in the house which eat the cockroaches from the steamer cargoes, frogs and dogs accompany the organ music, Dr. Steele's donkey, so slow it delayed the council meeting for days, arrival of a brown calf, no lions as yet though stories of them round about, glad to have cattle, rhododendron-type flowers in bloom at present, and irises, too, one year today since they sailed back from England.
