DescriptionLetter from Robert Laws, Kondowi, British Central Africa, to his daughter Amelia (Amy), with list of services held that day, description of meeting room in Mr. Murray's shop, a church may eventually be built, but teaching is more important first, Christ preached in the open air, some are studying the Life of Moses, others learning English, condition of two boys, one with a tumour, another injured by a hyena, fever, people learning Harry's Catechism, road building and other teaching, a contrast with the district before, asking about Amy's progress in the Shorter Catechism, suggesting she repeats it to Miss Melville, his old teacher, when she goes to visit her grandfather, asking if she speaks German with Willie and Sarah Paterson, regards to her friends.
