DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Grenoble, France, to her relatives, regarding plans to leave Grenoble, shopping on the way in Turin; Aunt is suffering from the food in Grenoble which has deteriorated even in their time there; description of meals; the food is being stretched to do more and more girls in the pension, as well as any guests that turn up; Amelia is being expected to play for any social occasion; she feels Mlle. Delord is taking advantage of her; pleasure in playing for the soldiers, who appreciate it; further appreciation of the university classes, which she has enjoyed; Uncle's journey has been disrupted by storms, which have broken the line near Rapallo; he has to go round by Parma and Sarzana but he intends to visit Florence, Padua and Bologna; he cannot stay in these places because they are in the war zone, but the colporteurs will meet him at the station; thanking for letters; weather has turned cold.
