DescriptionLetter to Amelia Nyasa Laws (Petite) from Mary Gray, her aunt, 7, Via Venti Settembre, Rome, reporting safe arrival of a parcel, thanking for presents and shawl for two friends who are interested in the work of the wounded, laying a wreath on Miss Forster Walker's grave on behalf of a friend, disposal of her books, anticipation of the difficulties in disposal of Uncle's books when he goes, account of congregational meeting including an election and an accusation of unprocedural behaviour, Uncle's response, untrustworthy behaviour of Mr. Smith and his conspiracy with Gibson, she is determined that they should leave the manse so that it can bring in more money, Gibson is putting pressure on Uncle to retire, Gibson is nervous and strained and may be on his way to a breakdown, Uncle does not wish to go home for the Assembly, hopes that this means Aunt can go and stay with Amelia, contribution from Mrs. Fleming.
