TitleLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws to her relatives
Date8 November 1920
Extent1 sheet
DescriptionLetter from Amelia Nyasa Laws, Metz, to her relatives, late in writing as she has been in bed with sciatica and lumbago because of the draughty room, looking forward to her own quarters, they cannot take the Christens' flat till the Christens get their villa, which is at present on offer to the proprietor's son, Aunt needs her own food, the Diaconess is run by devoted women who do not know how to organise things, the hospital has fewer and fewer patients and is looked upon as Dr. Franz' clinic, the food is too stodgy, example given of a menu, too many onions for Aunt, Mme. Brunel's manoeuvres in the choir practice, she cannot press the pedals on the organ because of her abdominal weakness, Amelia thinks she will end up needing an operation 'like most married women', an evening massage case will relieve her of the choir for now.
