Administrative HistoryGontran de Poncins' 'Kabloona among the inuit' describes the author's experiences living amongst the Inuit of the Arctic for fifteen months during 1938 - 39. First published in 1941, it quickly became a best seller and a classic anthropological/sociological study of its time. 'Kabloona' means 'the white man.' The book was republished by Graywolf Press in 1996.
