Administrative History | Lockhart's retirement portrait was presented in Mitchell Hall, Marischal College, Aberdeen, on 17 October 1964. Correspondence in the collection reveals that Lockhart's friend, Alberto Morrocco, who had illustrated 'Anatomy of the Human Body', was originally offered and accepted the portrait commission. However, the University committee charged with fund-raising and organisation for the portrait later withdrew this offer and a short-list of candidates was compiled, from which Lockhart chose Sir James Gunn. |
