DescriptionAddress delivered in the 'early days' of the Lecturers and Assistants Association, 10 February 1956. Gives an account of the life of William Elphinstone, founder of King's College, who she feels would have approved of women having the opportunity to study and graduate from here (the first woman graduated from the university in 1893 - 'education never wasted even in marriage'). 'In paying tribute to our founder, thanks not only for knowledge, but also for much joy and pleasure' - states that in her eleven years at the university, recounts nothing unpleasant.
