Administrative HistoryThe Van Zeeland Report on the International Economic Situation was published in 1938. It criticised economic nationalism as destructive and advocated the abolition of trading tariffs, in the belief that international economic collaboration on a wide and equal basis would lead to global economic and political stability. This sentiment was endorsed by American Secretary of State, Cordell Hull (1871-1955), the League of Nations, and the Lima Conference.
