Description	Mounted print of a well-known pen and ink sketch of Gladstone, showing him seated and turned to face the artist. With newspaper cutting discussing the difficulties that painters and caricaturists alike, have encountered in achieving satisfactory studies of him: 'To Phil May belongs the credit of having made the finest pen and ink sketch of Mr Gladstone, the strength of which lies in the drawing of "the eye."'
