Includes a letter from the Secretary of the British Medical Association, London, expressing thanks for Mary Esslemont's long-standing contributions to the Society, 1 July 1981 and a birthday telegram from David Steel and his Liberal Party colleagues in the House of Parliament, London, 3 July 1981.

Autograph book signed by well-wishers from 'Mr Grimmond's party' [the Liberal Party], the University of Aberdeen, the [British Federation of] Business and Professional Women, the British Federation of University Women, the British Medical Association, the BWTA, Esslemont and Macintosh [E&M's], the Esslemont family, Liberal Party members, the Medical Women's Federation, Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society, the National Council of Women, Oxfam, the Royal Society for the Protection for Cruelty to Children, the Saltire Society, the Soroptimists, St Mark's Church, Aberdeen, the United Nations Association, and UNICEF. The volume is dedicated: 'To Mary Esslemont at the time of her ninetieth birthday from well-wishers who have shared some of the same causes and have in common their admiration for her lifetime of service and their affection for herself'.
