| Arrangement | The original archival arrangement of these papers is uncertain as they were found to have fallen from the storage shelves in the strong room at Montcoffer Lodge. Where original bundles survived, these were retained. Many bundles, however, are completely artificial, though some attempt has been made to keep together material from the same chronological period and to separate correspondence from financial papers. There is therefore repetition in the list which reflects the splitting of original bundles. The bundles were numbered 1-267 in the NRA(S) survey list 1218 which formed the original finding aid. Some of these bundles have been subdivided for re-listing (this is indicated by a second part to the reference). The bundle numbers are prefixed by the letter Z in order to distinguish these bundles from others in the collection. |
