Extent | 1 bundle, 14 volumes, and 21 items |
Description | Papers and materials relating to the 9th Earl's period as Governor of South Australia from 1889 to 1895. As well as official documents and presentation items received by Lord Kintore in the context of official visits, there is the report of his journey through the Northern Territory in 1891 together with a photograph of the members of the expedition.
Eight substantial scrapbooks created by the Countess of Kintore to document the couple's period in Adelaide present a less official view of South Australia at the time. In additions to press cuttings on the official and social activities of the Earl and Countess, they also contain original letters, photographs, sketches and ephemera. |
