Includes: notes on the origin of the Danes and Picts by [Professor Grimur Johnson] Thorkelin; letter from Thorkelin to Lord Saltoun on the descent of the Caledonians; genealogical notes on the Frasers in Riga and Archangel; letter from Duncan Fraser with an eye-witness account of some of the proceedings in the French National Assembly; letters from Robert Walker declaring himself a candidate for the clerkship of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, urging Saltoun to tamper with the presbytery of Deer by arranging a purge of opposing members and antedating the election of favourable ruling elders, and enclosing a list of delegates to the assembly open to influence by Keith Elphinston; letter from Alexander Fraser disclosing that Henry Dundas and ‘Jupiter’ Carlyle are making interest in the presbytery of Aberdeen.
