DescriptionLetter from James Gordon, Fochabers, to the Dutchess of Gordon, thanking the Dutchess for her letter; wishing her good health and thanking the Dutchess for her sympathy regarding the death of Gordon's wife. Letter mentions Miss Lumsden, Jane, Mary's poor health and Dr Couper [Robert Couper (1750 - 1818), poet and physician]. Letter mentions that the Dutchess provided Gordon with accounts of his young friends; tells her that Lord Alexander [the Dutchess' second son, Alexander (1785–1808)] is in good health and mentions that Mr Grant will be waiting for her in London and that he has two sons: eighteen - year - old James and twelve - year - old Maxwell.
