| Description | Letter, dated 26 March, from Jane, the Duchess of Gordon, Gordon Castle, to James Beattie, ?relating to tree shrubs and flowers, the poor November weather, poor state of roads and ?Beattie's staying at Gordon Castle. The Duchess writes that 'social mirth and ?wise folly' are better for the Beattie's health than work. Letter talks about the weather and that the Duke of Gordon has gone to the Turriff meeting, meaning that Beattie will have to pay for the letter. The Duchess writes that Sir Robert Sinclair and Madeline are with her.
