Administrative HistoryWilliam Wilson [c. 1766?-1791 or 1793) Marischal College 1780-1784. The son of a poor man. Became Beattie's protege, lived in his family, attended Marischal College and was tutor to Montagu Beattie. He was taught Medicine by Dr Skene. Briefly went to Jamaica in 1788 but returned for halth reasons, and was in partnership with Dr Findley at Fraserburgh. He was a friend of James Hay Beattie, in whose final illness in 1790 was a constant companion and medical attendant. Drowned in 1791 or 1793.
DescriptionTo Mr Wilson, surgeon at Dr Findley's, Fraseburgh. James Hay Beattie worse, wants to go to Edinburgh to consult physicians, Could Wilson go with him? Beattie will pay daily allowance to Dr Findley if he gives Wilson leave.
