DescriptionThanks for her letter and refers to the young man who brought it [? Charles Boyd's grandson]. Beattie's debt to patronage and friendship of late Lord Erroll and his amiable brother [Charles Boyd]. Beattie missed seeing Archbishop of Canterbury while in England. James Hay Beattie has had more work than Beattie expected him to do, since Beattie had cough since November. James Hay Beattie likes it and has no difficulty. He had no objection to church, but business like Beattie's was what he set his heart upon. Said he never wished to be rich.
