DescriptionAbout son's [Montagu] birth and Mrs Beattie ill health. Child has been baptized Montagu , following a promise of seven years standing, and thrives. Brother has become a pretty good Latin scholar. Beattie and Mrs Beattie hope to pass some time at Gordon Castle. Duke of Gordon has been very lucky in his levies : fencibles already exceed a thousand.
