Beattie often stayed with her in Montrose and it was probably on one of these occasions that he met the Montrose literary circle, including Aaron Lithgow and Charles Thomson. DescriptionDetails of Montagu's birth. Everyhting goes well with Mrs Beattie, and critical third day is now past. Boy in perfect health, and has an excellent wet nurse with a good deal more milk that the young rogue can swallow. Jamie still in the country with his grandfather.
