Administrative HistoryJohn Lundie [1726-1809] was student at Marischal College between 1739 and 1743. He was Minister at Lonmay, north of Peterhead, from 1753 to 1808. Robert Arbuthnot probably introduced Beattie to him. According to Sir William Forbes he was one of Beattie's earliest friends - probably since the early 1760s - although the first extant letter between them is dated 7 November 1766
