Description
Received letter from Lord Mansfield expressing regard for Beattie. But there is uncertainty for over prospects in Church of England, difficulty in getting anything out of crown, and Lord Mansfield has exhausted interest with Lord Chancellor. If there is no place in Church of England he knew Beattie would prefer a decent sinecure in England or Scotland. Lord Kinnoull is truly anxious in everything that concerns Beattie
