Description
Beattie had apparently written to Kinnoull on 16 June passing information to him about the Gordon riots, Duchess' anxiety about her family, and fears about Lord George Gordon's conduct and likely punishment. Kinnoull refers to the deplorable scenes and the magnitude of the crime. Has not yet heard from the ministers of state about the real caue of this dreadful and destructive confusion
