Administrative History | William Cameron [1751-1810] Was in the MA course at Marischal College from 1766 to 1770, where Beattie would have taught him in his final year. In 1786 he became minister at Kirknewton, near Edinburgh. In 1778 he was intermediary for Hugh Blair in approaching Beattie about new metrical versions for the psalms. He later wrote a continuations of the Minstrel which was published posthomously (Poems on Several Occasions, 1813), as were several of his own psalms paraphrases.
