Robert Foulis [1707-1776]. Printer and bookseller in Glasgow with his brother Andrew. Took Beattie's instructions on the quarto edition of Gray's poem (1768), and Beattie's advice on the folio edition of Paradise Lost (1770)
Description
He is grateful to Beattie for applying to Gray, and to Gray for permission to print his poems. He had hoped to meet Gray in 1753. foulis discussed Gray's poems with Miss Hepburn on their journey back to Scotland. He is not worried about dodsley also publishing the poems.
